Jonas Limantas has over 30 years in the marine industry. As a graduate of the Klaipeda Maritime College, he built his engineering career working on a variety of ships from harbor tugs to oceangoing ships. During his time ashore, he reconstructed an old Soling and crewed on a 54 foot racing sloop in the Baltic Sea for 10 years. Following a yearlong circumnavigation, he captained and managed a corporate yacht. He achieved his lifelong ambition by sailing from Europe across the Atlantic and around Cape Horn aboard his 30-foot sailboat Aura. Jonas has single-handed across the North Sea, from Den Helder, Netherlands to Dover, England, and the Atlantic Ocean from Salvador, Brazil to Bermuda. The last 15 years, he has sailed New England waters.
Jonas Limantas is a certified ASA Instructor and holds a U.S. Coast Guard Engineer’s license, and a U.S. Coast Guard 50-ton Near Coastal Master’s license with Sailing Endorsements. Jonas enjoys sharing his experience with both beginning and advanced students.
