INTRODUCTORY SAILING CLASS

If you’ve never had the experience of being on a sailboat or are currently considering taking a sailing class, but feel a bit unsure about it, this engaging two-hour mini lesson offers a fantastic opportunity to experience the world of sailing. During this session, you’ll have the chance to spend time at the helm, connect with the beauty of nature, and discover the joys and thrills of sailing for yourself. It's a perfect introduction for those wanting to dip their toes into this exciting adventure!

BASIC KEELBOAT SAILING 1

ASA 101 Certification

Able to skipper a sloop-rigged auxiliary powered (inboard or outboard engine) keelboat of approximately 20 to 31 feet in length by day in light to moderate winds (up to 20 knots) and sea conditions. Knowledge of cruising sailboat terminology, basic boat systems, auxiliary engine operation, docking procedures, intermediate sail trim, navigation rules, basic coastal navigation, anchoring, weather interpretation, safety, and seamanship.

A minimum of 24 on-water sailing hours is required before undertaking ASA 103. The ASA 102, Keelboat Sailing 2 certification is not a pre-requisite for ASA 103, but it will help you to improve your sailing skills and is one way to log the necessary on-the-water sailing time.

Certification: Basic Keeboat Sailing 1 (ASA 101)

BASIC KEELBOAT SAILING 2

ASA 102 Certification

This exciting course is specifically designed for sailors, who are eager to enhance and refine their essential sailing skills, including sail trim, close-quarter maneuvering, and effective teamwork, all aimed at improving efficient boat handling techniques.

It is perfectly suitable for beginners who have successfully completed ASA 101, as well as for more experienced sailors who possess ASA 103/104 certifications or higher. Additionally, this course offers valuable benefits to those, who may have a keen interest in racing, providing a strong and reliable skill foundation that is vital for handling various race situations confidently.

 

Prerequisite: Basic Keeboat Sailing (ASA 101)

Duration: Four 4-hour Sessions
Certification: Basic Keeboat Sailing (ASA 102)

BASIC COASTAL CRUISING

ASA 103 Certification

Able to skipper a sloop-rigged auxiliary powered (inboard or outboard engine) keelboat of approximately 25 to 35 feet in length by day in moderate winds (up to 20 knots) and sea conditions. Knowledge of cruising sailboat terminology, basic boat systems, auxiliary engine operation, docking procedures, intermediate sail trim, navigation rules, basic coastal navigation, anchoring, weather interpretation, safety, and seamanship.

A minimum of 24 on-water sailing hours is required before undertaking ASA 103. The ASA 102, Keelboat Sailing 2 certification is not a pre-requisite for ASA 103, but it will help you to improve your sailing skills and is one way to log the necessary on-the-water sailing time.
