For those who have specific goals in mind, we offer private lessons. This can include refreshers, specific skills targeting, shakedown cruises, and deliveries. Private lessons held on your boat or ours and designed to meet your needs.
Private Lessons on OUR Boat
Experience personalized lessons on our boat with our ASA certified instructors/USCG licensed captains, will help you reach your goals—whether it’s refreshing your skills, training your crew, or simply enjoying time on the water. Rates begin at $120 per hour for two to four students, with a minimum booking of three hours on a 31 ft. Pearson.
Private Lessons on YOUR Boat
We assist both new and experienced boat owners in enhancing their skills. One of our instructors will go to your boat and cover any topics you would like. We specialize in all aspects of maneuvering under sail, docking techniques, tight quarters boat handling (under sail or power), anchoring techniques, and much more. Rates begin at $120 per hour for two to four students, with a minimum booking of three hours on a 31 ft. Pearson.
Challenge a Standard
For those with sailing experience, ASA offers sailors the opportunity to Challenge the Standard. You are required to pass both a written and an on-the-water practical exam without instruction for each level.
Challenge one ASA level
Your examiner will ask you to perform the practical skills required in the ASA logbook for the level challenged. You must receive a grade of 100% for the on-the-water practical exam to take the written part of the exam. Then, if you pass the written exam with a minimum grade of 80%, you will be approved for the appropriate certificate. The cost to challenge a level is $290.
